Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how go for the side control after attempting to take the back with a Lasso sweep attempt. Lucas starts in the open guard and then gets the spider guard. He breaks the grips and uses the foot opposite to the lasso grip to push the opponent away on the hip. Lucas then brings the same foot across and slides it in between the opponent’s arm and the Lasso grip. He spins under the opponent and grips the outside of the leg. He raises his hips and rocks forward to use his momentum to sweep the opponent forward. The opponent defends by posting on the mat and tries to face Lucas. Lucas slides both of his knees behind the opponent’s legs to try and push the opponent to take the back, but the opponent once again defends. Lucas instead goes to the side control position.
