Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get the triangle or omoplata after attempting a sweep using the De La Riva and Lasso. Lucas starts in the open guard and gets the Lasso. The opponent applies pressure to defend and Lucas switches to the De La Riva. In the De La Riva, Lucas then applies the Lasso once again but on the other side. With the De La Riva and Lasso, Lucas tries to sweep the opponent in the Lasso direction but the opponent defends. Lucas tries pushing the opponent to the other side and the opponent bases with his hand on the mat. In this scenario, Lucas spins underneath the opponent and instead of going to the back he unhooks his legs and goes for the triangle choke. If the opponent defends by moving his head down, then Lucas just transitions to the omoplata.
