Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a variation of the one leg X-Guard pass escape to side control. As the opponent has Lucas in their one leg X-Guard, the first thing Lucas does is grab the opponents collar opposite to the opponent’s leg that is on his hip. Once he does this, he can then work on removing the opponent's leg by grabbing the foot and pushing it down and away from him so he can then also grab the other collar with his other hand. In this situation, the opponent tries to push Lucas forward. At this point is when Lucas prevents prevents this by posting with his left leg forward and out. Right after he posts with his leg, he then releases the second collar grip and loops his arm behind his own right leg and posts his hand on the ground by the opponent’s hips. He then steps his left leg a little forward and puts all his weight on his arm that is posting. Once in that position, he can either step over the opponent with his left leg and get the side control or if the opponent puts his arm under Lucas’ right leg Lucas can bring that leg back and establish the side control on that side.
