Professor Lucas Lepri shows a one leg x-guard pass to the side control position. When the opponent has Lucas in their x-guard, the first thing he does is grab the opponent’s collar with his left hand and uses his right hand you push off the opponent’s foot from his hip. Once he moves the opponent’s foot away he uses that same hand and places it in between the opponent’s arm and leg grabbing the material. Lucas also uses his elbow to trap the leg he had pushed off his hip, he also keeps his left leg extended and away from the opponent to prevent him from reaching it. At this point, the opponent is going to try to bump Lucas off. When the opponent does this, Lucas releases the grip on the collar and uses that hand to post it on the floor along with his forehead. As he posts, he makes sure he keeps his elbow tight on the opponent’s leg and his knee bent across the opponent’s body. He then uses his hand on the mat to push himself up to the side and slide his leg through establishing the side control.
