Open Guard Collar Drag to the Back (Intermediate)

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep and take an opponent's back with a collar drag from open guard. When the opponent establishes grips on Lucas' pant legs, Lucas posts with his free hand, pointing his fingers backwards, and frames with a cross-collar grip. As the opponent circles left and right, Lucas monitors his position and makes adjustments to remain in front of the opponent while maintaining distance. Lucas waits for the opponent to circle to the side of the hand with the cross-collar grip, and he then quickly shifts his hips, drags the collar, and finishes by circling to the back when the opponent falls to his knees. He traps the opponent's far thigh to prevent him from playing guard, and he finishes by taking the back with the seatbelt grip.
