Open Guard with Lapel Grip Sweep and Pass to Side Control (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a sweep and pass from the open guard. From the open guard with one foot on the hip and one on the shoulder, Lucas grips the end of the opponent’s lapel and the sleeve. He feeds the lapel to his other hand and turns as though he is inverting to hook the opponent’s leg with his free arm. He then feeds the lapel back to the original hand that is now hooking the leg. Lucas uses his free leg to pendulum and sit up while turning away from the opponent, completing the sweep and ending in side control.
