Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to use the reverse De La Riva to prevent an opponent from passing his guard. He then shows how to take the back. The opponent tries to pass Lucas’ guard but Lucas prevents it by gripping the collar and ankle in the reverse De La Riva position. Lucas then lifts the opponent up by pulling on the collar and lifting him with his reverse De La Riva hook. The opponent posts with both hand on the mat and Lucas releases the collar grip and reaches behind the knee to pull himself under the opponent’s legs. Lucas grips both pants with each hand and uses the inside leg to push the opponent forward. As the opponent moves forward, Lucas stands up and lifts the opponent’s legs up. He pulls the opponent back and then hugs the waist. From there, Lucas then takes the opponent’s back control.
