Punch Defense to Clinch and Takedown to Mount (Fundamentals)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates an effective self defense technique to counterattack a punch. The situation begins with both opponents standing, and the opponent attempts to punch Lucas with a jab. Lucas deflects the punch with his far-side arm and steps into the opponent as he clinches the opponent’s waist. With his head still on the outside, Lucas steps his outside leg behind and around the opponent’s leg. Lucas then turns into the trapped leg, completing the takedown and ending in the mount position.
