Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to get to the side control using the reverse de la riva. Lucas has the reverse de la riva on the opponent and pushes him away. As the opponent reacts and tries to come back, Lucas pulls and lifts him in the opposite direction. He spins under the opponent’s legs and grips the pants. He uses his inside foot to push the opponent and create space so he can bring his outside leg in. The foot that was brought over is now used to pin the opponent’s opposite leg with his foot and he also slides his knee under the same side leg. Lucas now sits up and reaches for the pants grip. As he comes up, he does a leg drag on the opponent. He keeps the pressure on the opponent, reaches for the opposite side collar and goes to the side control position.
