Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to apply the triangle choke submission whenever an opponent defends against the ankle push sweep from sit-up guard by posting on the mat. Lucas begins with double sleeve grips or sleeve and pant grips in De La Riva guard. He then establishes the sit-up guard with his torso tight to the opponent's leg. Lucas grips as high as possible on the opponent's collar, drops his foot from the hip to the ankle, and attempts to sweep by pushing the ankle with his foot and dragging the opponent to the mat. In this situation the opponent posts to defend, so Lucas switches to a triangle choke attack. He puts a foot on the opponent's hip and wraps his other leg behind the opponent's neck, releasing his grip from the opponent's sleeve to hold his own shin as he attacks. He then closes the triangle and flexes his feet toward his shins while holding around his own knee to squeeze and apply the choke.
