Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to escape and reverse the opponent from the reverse half guard. The opponent has Lucas in the reverse half guard. Lucas points his own knees away from the opponent and hooks the near side foot with his own. He then grips the opponent’s near side knee and reaches under and around the opponent’s back. Lucas now pushes the opponent up using his hook on the foot and both grips on the knee and back. The knee of the foot that was used to push the opponent up is now brought in between the opponent’s legs. Lucas releases the grip on the knee and under hooks the opponent gripping the back. Lucas now uses his other hand to grip the opponent’s sleeve as he pushes the opponent over making the opponent fall back. Lucas now stays on the side control, or if the opponent turns, he can take the back.
