Description

Professor Lucas Lepri explains critical details for defending and escaping from side control. Lucas begins with both arms framing the opponent. He bridges into the opponent and opens a space to underhook the opponent’s arm. From here, Lucas explains there are several options for escape. In this situation, the opponent postures up to attempt to reestablish the underhook. When the opponent begins to posture up, Lucas follows him and comes up to his elbow. He shrimps his hips away from the opponent to create space and brings his feet between the opponent’s legs, hooking the opponent’s thigh with the leg on the same side of the underhook. Lucas cups the triceps on the opponent’s other arm and pulls it under his armpit, trapping it. Lucas falls to his shoulder and lifts the opponent over his body with his leg hook, finishing in the mount.
