Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to escape from the side control position and recover the guard. Lucas makes sure to frame, so the opponent won't attack his arm. Instead of using his other hand to push on the opponent’s hips, he brings it close right under the opponent’s arm pit and keeps his elbow in. Lucas uses the frame to push the opponent as he shrimps out and slides his near side arm under the opponent’s arm. The opponent applies more pressure and Lucas uses that to bump the opponent over his head. He then spins around as the frames on the opponent’s shoulder. Lucas from here can recompose the guard.
