Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to transition to the armbar submission from knee on belly starting from side control. Starting from the side control position, Lucas holds the collar with the hand that was under the opponent’s head and uses his other hand to grab the opponent’s pants by the hip. While holding the collar and pants, Lucas then pushes up and brings his knee on to the opponent's belly while posting out with his other leg. The opponent then tries to escape from Lucas’ knee on belly. Lucas takes that opportunity to go for the armbar. As the opponent starts to push Lucas’ knee off and shrimp out, Lucas releases the hand that was gripping the opponent’s pants and loops it through the opening created by the opponent trying to escape. Lucas grabs the arm by the triceps and pulls it towards him connecting it to his chest. The hand that was gripping the collar is then used to post on the floor so Lucas can spin to the other side of the opponent and gets the armbar.
