Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to escape from the side control position when the opponent has both of the grips on the same side. The opponent has Lucas in the side control position with one grip on the shoulder and the other behind the leg. Lucas has both hands on the opponent’s arm. He bridges up to create enough space for him to bring his outside hand in. The hand that was brought in, is now used to push the opponent’s head away. As he pushes the head, Lucas starts turning away and rolls on his shoulder. Halfway through the roll, he swings his legs towards the opponent and closes his guard on him.
