Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a basic single leg takedown. Beginning with regular Judo grips, Lucas releases the opponent’s sleeve and circles his arm in order to be able to reach the leg. He falls to one knee as he underhooks the same-side leg and grips his own collar. Standing up, he traps the opponent’s foot between his knees and braces his head against the opponent’s ribs. He then walks backward, circling as he does so to force the opponent to fall. Once the opponent falls, Lucas releases the opponent’s leg to post on the mat, and points his outside knee behind the opponent’s knee as he backsteps with his other leg, completing the pass to side control.
