Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to execute a back take when an opponent attempts a single leg takedown. As soon as the opponent connects his hands around Lucas’ leg, Lucas puts his weight on the top of the opponent’s back and turns his leg to attempt to kick his leg out. In this situation, the opponent manages to keep Lucas’ foot trapped. Lucas sits on his opponent’s shoulder and reaches behind him to hook his arm around and the opponent to block the hips using his hand on the inner thigh. Applying pressure, he is able to escape his foot and bring his other knee under the opponent. From here he grabs the opponent’s ankle and sits back, pulling the opponent with him as he adjusts his hooks, applies the seatbelt grips, and completes the back take.
