Description

Professor Andre Gois teaches a sweep variation, after he attempts a sweep from the single leg x and the opponent defends. Andre starts with his shin against the opponent’s and then transitions to the single x guard. In this scenario, he tries to go for the tripod sweep but the opponent defends by stepping back. Andre immediately reaches for the back of the pants and circles his foot behind the opponent’s near side leg. He shrimps out and uses his other hand to grip the other leg. Andre now hooks the leg with his other foot and pulls the opponent back. From here, he kicks out his hook to sweep the opponent to the side.
