Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a variation on how to escape from the heel hook when the opponent locks the legs together. The opponent has the one leg x and starts to slide his leg over to go for the heel hook. In this scenario, the opponent is able to lock his legs in a figure four to push Lucas away. Lucas takes advantage of this and pushes down on the far side shin pinning it to the mat. He turns his knee away and once it slides out, he back steps over the opponent. From here, he shifts his hips and rolls to the side and over the opponent. Lucas keeps his back on the mat and then uses his legs to push the opponent away to take the back.
