Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to sweep an opponent from sit-up guard and then pass and take the back. Lucas begins in De La Riva guard with a grip on the opponent's lapel. As Lucas tries to lift, the opponent posts to defend and shifts his weight back. Lucas then pushes the opponent's far leg and sits up, wrapping his arm around the near leg and gripping the same lapel to establish the sit-up guard position. Lucas pushes the opponent, stands, and brings him to the mat. When the opponent frames to defend, Lucas lowers his head, raises his hips, and moves his grip from around the leg to the opponent's back. Lucas then windshield wipers his leg over the opponent's leg and passes to the back side. He then forces the opponent to turn to the mat by applying shoulder pressure, and he takes the back by passing his top hook over and dragging the opponent to the other side. If the opponent defends against the second hook, Lucas attacks with a lapel choke to force the opponent to defend against the choke instead of the hook.
