Professor Lucas Lepri shows a variation of the spider guard pass to the side control position. Lucas starts by stepping forward with one leg and breaks the grip by circling his hand behind and over the opponent’s leg, gripping the top. He does the same on the other side but does not step forward. Lucas then pushes the first side down and places his knee inside the opponent’s leg as he goes under the other leg to grip the opposite side collar. He starts to move to the side of the collar grip and releases the other grip and places it on the back of the opponent’s pants. This prevents the opponent from recomposing the guard. Lucas then moves to the side control position.
