Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates how to pass an opponent’s guard when they are using the spider guard. Lucas starts by keeping his distance to avoid the opponent from going underneath him. He then grips the outside of the pants and closes his elbows. Lucas now starts to lift and push the opponent’s leg forward forcing the opponent to go inverted. From here, Lucas keeps pushing the opponent diagonally until the opponent rolls to the side and ends up in the turtle position. In this scenario, the opponent tries to roll forward from the turtle position. As soon as the opponent tries to roll, Lucas jumps over and takes the back control.
