Professor Lucas Lepri shows a 50/50 Guard sweep from a Kneebar attempt. Lucas starts by playing spider guard and drops his left foot on the mat to try to bring the opponent towards him. The opponent counters Lucas’ attempt by stepping to Lucas’ side. As soon as the opponent does this, Lucas reaches for the opponent’s knee with his right arm and bring his right knee in and his left leg over to try to get the Kneebar submission on the opponent. The opponent bases and prevents Lucas from getting the submission. At his point, Lucas lifts his hips to get the opponent’s foot to lift off the mat and grabs his foot and brings it to the other side over his head and under his arm. Lucas then brings his right foot over his left leg to lock the 50/50 Guard. He then reaches for the opponent’s lapel and brings it over his own shin so he can then reach with his left hand under the opponent’s knee to grip the lapel with his palm facing down. Lucas then releases the 50/50 guard, extends his left leg and starts rocking back and forth to make the opponent base. Once the opponent bases he uses his right foot to push the opponent’s based leg down and gets the sweep.
