Professor Lucas Lepri shows a Toreada pass drill that can be used when the opponent is playing open guard and has not established any grips on Lucas. As the opponent is playing open guard, Lucas blocks the opponent’s shins. He then pushes one shin forward and puts his other hand on top of the opponent’s leg. Lucas pulls the opponent’s leg to one side as he uses the other hand on the shin to help him spin the opponent. The opponent then tries to turn into Lucas and then Lucas releases the hand that was on the opponent’s leg and posts it on the mat. He then uses that posted hand to spin around the opponent securing either the side control position or the back take.
