Triangle Escape by Pushing Collar and Pants (Intermediate)

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the triangle when in the closed guard or standing. The opponent locks their legs together over Lucas, in an attempt to get the triangle choke. Lucas starts to escape by gripping the same side collar of the arm that is out. He locks his elbow in to prevent the opponent from pulling his arm out. Lucas now uses his other hand to grip the side of the pants. He now pushes the lapel and pants, then slides his near side knee in between the opponent’s legs. This makes the opponent open the legs and Lucas is able to escape. From here, Lucas can use the knee cut pass to get to side control.
