Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a shoulder lock submission from the closed guard. Lucas has the closed guard on the opponent. He grips the lapel with the same side hand and the same sleeve with his opposite side hand. He pulls the collar down and traps the elbow with his knee, preventing the opponent from pulling the arm out. Lucas lifts his other leg and raises it, setting his ankle near the back of the opponent's head. This motion also pushes the opponent slightly to the side. Lucas now moves the grip that was on the collar to the arm resulting with two grips over the same arm. Lucas now pushes the arm out as he bends his knee in to get the shoulder lock submission.
