Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to escape from the opponent’s half guard and get the mount. Lucas is in the opponent's half guard and he immediately under hooks the arm and clubs the back with his other hand. He starts to escape by applying shoulder pressure over the neck. He then brings his knees together and shifts his hips to the side. Lucas uses the shoulder pressure and the grip on the shoulder blade to prevent the opponent from turning. This also allows him to use his top hand to push the opponent's leg down so he can slide his knee in. Once the knee is on the opponent, Lucas goes back to the under hook of the arm. He shifts his hips to the side and then brings his other leg over the opponent’s leg. From here, Lucas goes for the mount control position.
