Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to use the long step, to pass when the opponent has the reverse de la riva. Lucas moves in for a knee cut pass. The opponent reacts by gripping Lucas’s near side ankle and going to reverse de la riva. Lucas makes sure to grab the opponent's shin on the de la riva side and grips the collar with his other hand. He starts to pass by dropping his knee and falling to the side, in line with the opponents hips. He takes a long step back with his top leg, breaking the opponent's grip by kicking the leg back. The opponent reacts by pushing Lucas and tries to bring his knee in. Lucas prevents this by moving the grip from the shin, to the bottom leg. He keeps pressure by placing his head on the opponent’s chest and then moves in for the knee on belly.
