Professor Lucas Lepri talks about some mount escape concepts and shows how to escape the high mount position and how to get the mount position on the opponent. Lucas starts with the opponent on the mount position. The opponent has a high mount, preventing Lucas from trapping the leg to reverse him. Lucas starts to escape by trapping one arm bringing it to his chest. He bridges on the same side he trapped the arm, to make the opponent post out with their leg. When the opponent posts, Lucas uses his elbow to push the leg down allowing him to slide his knee into the half guard position. He immediately frames with his hands to prevent the opponent from regaining control. Lucas now bridges once again and hip escapes. This allows him to create enough space to bring his knee up to the opponent’s chest to the knee shield position. From here, Lucas brings his other leg in and gets to the closed guard. From the closed guard, Lucas now controls the collar and same side sleeve. The opponent goes to stand up by lifting one leg up first. Lucas now opens the guard and shifts his hips so he can place one knee on the opponent’s chest and the other on the mat next to the opponent’s leg. In a twisting motion, Lucas scissors his legs to sweep the opponent over where he finishes with the mount position.
