Back Control Escapes (Intermediate)

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches a series of back control escapes. Lucas starts in the opponent's back control. The opponent pulls Lucas back and Lucas starts the first escape by placing the back of his head on the mat. Lucas controls the opponent’s elbow and shifts his hips to make the opponent drop a hook. He then uses his other hand to push the opponent’s leg down. He shifts his hips and then starts to turn to escape. On the second escape, the opponent releases one hook to take Lucas to the other side. In the transition, Lucas raises his hips and hooks the bottom leg with his foot. This allows him to come out and jump over the opponent. From here, he turns in and escapes. For the third escape, Lucas repeats the previous scenario. Instead of jumping over the opponent, he reaches over the head to grip the opponent’s collar. From here, he turns into the opponent’s half guard.
