Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a transition from an armbar attempt from closed guard to taking the back. Lucas starts with the opponent in his closed guard and reaches for the cross collar grip. He uses his other hand to go under the opponent’s same side arm and reaches for the lapel. He pulls it out and wraps it over the opponent’s tricep, switches his grips from the collar to the lapel and grips the arm with the other hand trapping the opponent’s arm. Lucas then releases the grip on the arm and reaches for the cross collar, he then opens his guard and places his foot on the hip and brings his other knee close to the opponent’s shoulder. Lucas then grips the opponent’s arm and drags it across. In this scenario, Lucas is able to break the opponent's grip and instead of going for the armbar, he proceeds to take the opponent’s back. When Lucas drags the opponent’s arm, he defends by leaning forward and grabbing Lucas’ cross collar. Lucas reaches over the opponent’s back and grips it, locking his elbow down as he moves his legs up and crosses them together. He then releases the grip on the arm and reaches for the opponent’s leg. He brings the opponent up and pendulum sweeps him keeping the pressure on him as he comes on top. Lucas now releases the grip on the leg, grips the arm and pushes it forward. As he pushes it forward, he brings his knee up to the opponent head and them pulls hims back to the other side establishing the take control.
