Closed Guard Flower Sweep to Mount (Fundamentals)

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates the Flower Sweep. Lucas begins with his opponent in the closed guard, gripping both of the opponent’s sleeves. He releases one sleeve to reach down and grip the opponent’s pants just below the knee. He unlocks the closed guard and traps the opponent’s leg on the same side as the sleeve grip. Lucas raises his other leg, pushing on the opponent’s armpit as he lifts his hips up and turns toward the side of the sleeve grip to sweep the opponent. Once he has swept the opponent Lucas releases his grips to stabilize the mount position.
