Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a De La Riva guard pass to a double under pass and then to side control. Lucas first establishes a same side collar grip on the side where his leg is trapped by his opponent’s De La Riva hook. With his other hand, he pushes down the opponent’s hook making sure his hand is inside the opponent’s leg and back steps. He then turns back, facing the opponent, and puts his right knee over the opponent leg and starts applying pressure. He pulls on the opponent’s collar and keeps his torso on the opponent to prevent him from moving. Lucas then releases his right hand grip and grips the opponent’s pants. He then starts moving to the side, keeping the pressure on the opponent the whole time. Once on the opponent's side, he puts his knees on the mat and starts pushing the opponent’s hips forward. Lucas then establishes the side control position.
