De La Riva with Under Hook to Berimbolo to Back Take Attempt to Leg Drag to Side Control (Advanced)

Description

The opponent starts standing and Lucas is playing open guard. As the opponent steps forward, Lucas immediately goes to the Dela Riva and under hooks the de la riva leg with the same side arm. He unbalances the opponent to make him step back. This creates enough space for Lucas to grip the side of the pants and goes inverted spinning underneath. In this variation, Lucas is not able to take the back because the opponent’s hips are too far away. Lucas brings the inside leg in and places it behind the opponent’s inside leg. As he does this, he also grips the pants with his top hand. He now lifts the leg and switches the position of his own legs, bringing his knee close to the opponent’s belly. He reaches for the cross collar over the leg and then leans in that direction to come up. From here, Lucas is able to then go to the side control position.
