Deep De La Riva Sweep Attempt to Omoplata Submission (Advanced)

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a deep De La Riva sweep attempt to the omoplata submission. Lucas starts in the De La Riva position with one grip on the pants and the other on the sleeve. He uses the foot on the opponent’s hip to raise his own hips and slides his left foot underneath the opponent’s leg to reach the opponent’s left hip. As he slides the foot to the hip, he makes the opponent step back. The opponent bases preventing Lucas from completing the sweep. Lucas then grips the opponent’s arm and removes both De La Riva hooks. He brings his hips up and his leg over the opponent’s arm securing the omoplata position.
