Half Guard to Butterfly Guard Sweep While Under Hooking Arm to Mount (Intermediate)

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to sweep the opponent using the butterfly guard by under hooking the arm. Lucas starts with the opponent in his half guard. In this variation, Lucas is not able to grip the belt. He instead, under hooks the arm and reaches for the opponent’s cross lapel. He uses his other hand to block the hips. Lucas now hip escapes and slides one butterfly guard hook in. He then squares up to get the other hook in. From here, Lucas sweeps the opponent to the same side he is under hooking the arm and gets to the mount position.
