Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to recompose to the closed guard after defending a knee cut pass. Lucas starts standing and the opponent has both feet on Lucas’ hips. He turns to the side and moves one foot to the opposite hip and moves the other foot behind the ankle. The opponent now scissors and sweeps Lucas. As soon as the opponent sweeps, he starts going for the knee cut pass. Lucas defends by framing with his hands and uses his bottom leg to trap the opponent’s ankle. He reaches for the collar and grips the arm to push and pull the opponent. When the opponent reacts, Lucas then slides his foot out and places it on the hip so he can then get to the closed guard.
