Professor Lucas Lepri shows a sweep from a defensive open guard position. Lucas’ opponent is standing and trying to pass. As soon as the opponent grips Lucas’ pants by the knee, Lucas immediately places his hands on the opponent’s biceps and grips the Gi with his palms facing in. The opponent tries to pass and Lucas uses the grips to keep the opponent away. The opponent steps to one side and then to the other. In this scenario, once the opponent stops moving Lucas goes for the sweep. He places both of his feet behind the opponent's ankles, blocks them and pushes the opponent. As soon as the opponent’s falls, Lucas grabs one of the opponent’s leg and comes up.
