Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates what to do in a situation where the opponent is able to put his knee under Lucas’ arm in the De La Riva guard. Lucas grips the opponent’s pants below the knee and attempts to straighten the opponent’s leg. When the opponent reacts to prevent his leg from being straightened, Lucas switches directions and pushes the knee toward the opponent’s face as he frees his knee. Lucas circles around to his opponent’s back and establishes a seatbelt grip before hooking the opponent with his top leg and rolling to the other side. He uses his legs to push the opponent down until he can put in his other hook over the opponent’s shoulder to complete the lapel choke.
