Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to defend from the Sau Paulo pass and get the mount position using the butterfly sweep. Lucas has the opponent in his closed guard and the opponent starts to pass by under hooking the arm and starts to walk to the side. Lucas maintains the closed guard and blocks the opponent's arm with one hand and grips the belt with his other hand. While maintaining the grips, Lucas lets the opponent push his leg down and lets him get the half guard. Lucas now slides his outside foot in and hooks the leg. From here, he uses that hook to sweep the opponent over to the mount position.
