Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get a collar choke from the back, after attempting a single leg takedown. Lucas has the collar and the sleeve control. He raises the opponent’s elbow and moves in for a single leg. Lucas attempts to take the opponent down, but the opponent resists and starts to defend by gripping Lucas’ back by the belt. As soon as the opponent grips the belt, Lucas releases the leg, pulls down on the collar and slides his head to the outside. He now goes around the opponent’s back to the other side while still controlling the collar. He uses his other hand to control the opponent’s hips or arm to prevent the opponent from turning around to face Lucas. Lucas now slides his outside leg over the near side opponent’s leg and uses that foot to hook the back of the far side knee. He also reaches over to control the other collar. Lucas now starts to step around with his free leg and makes the opponent fall. This lands him controlling the back. The opponent attempts to turn away in an attempt to escape, but Lucas uses his top foot to hook the leg, pushing him away and creating space for him to pull him back to the back control. From here, Lucas is able to finish from the back with a collar choke.
