Description

Professor Lucas Lepri demonstrates a sweep from open guard with his opponent on both knees. Lucas begins with both feet on his opponent’s hips as his opponent kneels on the ground. He grips both sleeves, and places one foot on the opponent’s bicep to establish a spider guard. Lucas begins to put his other leg between the opponent’s knees, releasing the sleeve grip and gripping the opponent’s pants. He uses his foot on the bicep and the pants grips to pull his opponent over him, sliding his leg all the way through. He blocks his opponent’s hip with his foot, establishes a One Leg X-Guard. He then underhooks the leg, all the while maintaining pressure with his foot on the bicep. Pushing on the bicep and the hip, Lucas creates space to circle his foot from the outside of the hip to the inside of the thigh, where he can push on the leg and the bicep to complete the sweep.
