Triangle Defense Attempt to Omoplata Defense (Advanced)

January 09, 2019 on 12:55 319 3

Description

Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to defend from an omoplata after first defending from the triangle attempt. The opponent goes for the triangle on Lucas and he defends by gripping the same side collar and applying pressure on the opponent. Lucas makes a mistake and keeps his elbow straight instead of bent. This allows the opponent to transition to the omoplata submission. As soon as the opponent goes for the omoplata, Lucas back steps with his near side leg and then jumps over the opponent to the other side escaping the omoplata. He then establishes the side control.
