Professor Lucas Lepri shows how to open and opponent’s triangle attempt when he can’t slide his other arm in to open the triangle. The opponent goes for the triangle submission and crosses both his legs over Lucas. In this scenario, Lucas can’t bring his other hand in to open the triangle. Instead, Lucas grips the opponent’s hip with the arm that is out. The same side knee of the trapped arm is brought in between the opponent’s legs. Lucas now squats down and sits on his opposite heal so he can push himself away and make the opponent open the triangle.
