Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to prevent the opponent from establishing the worm guard and pass to side control. The situation begins with the opponent in De La Riva guard gripping Lucas' ankle and lapel. First, Lucas controls the arm that the opponent is using to feed the lapel while he pushes on the opponent's shoulder with his other hand. Next, Lucas back steps to clear the opponent's foot and then drives the point of his knee into the mat as he releases his grip from the shoulder and posts on the far side of the opponent's head. To finish the pass, Lucas continues to pull on the opponent's sleeve as he windshield wipers his foot to clear it from the opponent's thigh, and he finally pushes the arm away as he settles into a secure side control position.
