Description

Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the armbar submission, after attempting to sweep the opponent by inverting while using the lasso. Lucas starts with the open guard with his feet on the hips and controlling both sleeves. The opponent is standing controlling Lucas’ pants near the knees. Lucas turns to the side and kicks his leg out to break one of the opponent’s grips on the pants. The opponent reacts by stepping forward with his inside leg. Lucas stays on the side and raises his hips to create enough space to get the lasso on the arm he broke the grip. He now moves his other foot to the same side hip that he has the lasso. He spins underneath, getting inverted and controls the opponent’s leg. Lucas now elevates his hips and pendulums forward in an attempt to sweep the opponent. The opponent defends by posturing up and keeping their base. Lucas abandons this sweep and instead, turns his body so he can slide his outside leg behind the opponent’s near side leg to hook on the other. He then pushes the opponent back to sweep. As the opponent falls back, Lucas pulls on the arm and immediately goes for the armbar submission.
