Professor Lucas Lepri teaches how to get the kimura or armbar submissions from the north south position. Lucas starts in the side control position. The arm that was underneath the head is now brought out and placed in line with his other arm to control the opponent. The opponent is using the frame to defend. Lucas now starts to turn his body away by controlling the hip and places his legs in line with the opponent's head for the north south position. Lucas now uses his shoulder and control of the arm to isolate it. Once the arm is isolated, he locks in the kimura grips. Once he locks in the arm, he places one leg over the opponent’s free arm and uses his other leg to post out on the mat. Lucas pulls the arm up and twists to the side to finish with the kimura submission. If the opponent defends, then Lucas can turn to the side and go for an arm bar instead.
