Long Step Pass Attempt to Side Control (Intermediate)

Description

Professor André Gois teaches how to get to the side control after attempting a long step pass. André starts to pass using the knee cut, but is not able due to the opponent having the reverse de la riva and pushing on the chest. André adjusts his grips and brings his outside knee close to the opponent. In this scenario, when he drops his body and steps out with his knee cut leg, the opponent traps the leg in the half guard. André posts back out and puts his weight back on the near side knee. He then goes for the under hook so he can use his shoulder pressure to help him kick his leg out and get to the side control position.
