Closed Guard Sweep to Mount Position (Fundamentals)

Professor Lucas Lepri shows a closed guard sweep to mount by under hooking the opponent’s leg and scissoring his own legs. Lucas has the opponent in his closed guard and makes sure to grip the opponent’s sleeve with one hand. He then uses his legs to bring the opponent towards him and then reaches with his other hand underneath the opponent’s leg and hooks it with his arm. As he reaches for the leg, he opens his guard and twists his hips to the side. The leg that is under the opponent’s arm is used to push the opponent over as Lucas lifts the opponent’s leg with his arm and slides his other leg underneath the opponent sweeping him and landing on the mount position.
